Member Meeting Minutes 2026

LEWIS AND CLARK ABATE MINUTES

March 7th, 2026

The meeting opened at 2:00pm with 30 members present, all recited the Pledge Of Allegiance and took a moment of silence for our departed brothers and sisters. 

John- Started the meeting by introducing Jean Hunhoff who is running for South Dakota Senate and asking for our support.

Stated that this year will be the last year for he and Dez as ABATE Chapter officers.  

Poker Run will be May 30th final details still being worked on.

Motion was made to make a donation to Otis’s grandson to help with medical bills 1st by Alex 2nd by Lenny motion carried.

Dez- Gave the Financial Report and membership report with 129 members 6 renewals 0 new and 6 expired

Marcia talked about the upcoming Pub Crawl stating she has 6 sponsors already and maybe 3 more.

Also asking for members to help out getting it organized.

Start time will be 4:00pm May 2nd with a pizza party to follow.

April 11th will be the Hayshed Bingo in Gaville with a start time of 7:00pm, all proceeds will be donated back to the Chapter.

It was suggested that we visit a Chapter sponsor every month after the meeting. The first sponsor we will visit in April will be at Kozys.

Lenny- Nothing to report

Congratulations to Carol for winning 1yr free membership.

And to Dez for winning the 50/50.

Motion made by Jack second by Matt to adjourn the meeting at 2:50`

Next meeting April 4th at 2:00pm Mo-Jo’s.

February 7th, 2026

The meeting opened at 2:05pm with 35 members present, all recited the Pledge Of Allegiance and took a moment of silence for our departed brothers and sisters. 

John- started the meeting and confirmed that the Poker Run will be May 30th.

Need volunteers for the VFW breakfast on March 1st and November 1st. Be at the VFW at 7:30am.

The Chapter had to replace the printer.

Talked on making a donation to the Gayville Fire Dept, First by Jeremy 2nd by Dee Dee motion carried.

Dez- gave the Financial Report all bills are paid.

Justin- gave the membership report stating we have 135 members with 11 that renewed and 7 expired.

Alex- There will be a Celebration of Life for deceased Member Jim. It will be on February 22nd at 2:00pm at Happy Hourz with the Nolan Clark band providing the music.

Marcia- Made a motion to have a  Pub Crawl on May 2nd from 4-6pm, as a fund raise

We will need 6 sponsors to do this. First by Keith Second by Lenny, motion carried.

Lenny- Stated that in 2028 the ABATE will be having its 50th Anniversary.

Some riders feel as though they are being profiled just for riding their bike.

Congratulations to Gary for winning 1yr free membership.

And to Chris for winning the 50/50.

Motion made by Alex second by Lenny to adjourn the meeting at 2:30
