Lewis and Clark Abate Membership Minutes

July 5th, 2025

Meeting was called to order by President John with 35 members present. All recited the Pledge of Allegiance and took a moment of silence for our departed brothers and sisters.

Treasurer's report: Dez gave the report and stated the purchases have been completed for the raffle and also stated that Joleen is working on a website for purchasing Abate Apparel online such as clothing, koozies etc.

State Rep: Lenny, nothing to report this month.

Membership: Justin reported that we have 164 members with 17 renewals, 13 expired and 8 new.

President: John had talked on how the raffle ticket sale is going really slow and needs help. If you have any tickets please get them turned in to John or Dez by the 15th of July.

September Poker Run was discussed and decided to move it to the 27th of September with a motion by Grant and 2nd by Mike all approved the motion.

With conflicts during the May Poker Run we will discuss moving the date in January.

Teresa made a motion that Jo be the recipient of the monies collected during the September Poker Run with Otis 2nd all approved the motion.

President John also talked about the upcoming Rock n Rumble. We will have a booth again this year and will be selling raffle tickets, t-shirts and memberships.

Otis made a motion to make a donation to Bill who recently lost his home to a fire, 2nd by Grant all approved.

Congratulations to Mike for winning both the 50/50 drawing and the drawing for a free 1-year membership.

June 7th, 2025

41 Members and guests present.All recited the Pledge of Allegiance with a  Moment of Silence for our departed brothers and sisters.

Meeting began at 2:05 pm.

Treasurer - Dez gave the report on the checking account and reported that 32 raffle books have been turned in so far.

Dez also said that the Chapter has donated $13,584 YTD to local charities and people in need.

Membership Coordinator - Justin gave the new number for total members. 170 total members with 6 renewals and 2 new.

State Rep. - Lenny asked the opinion of having the State By-Laws posted on the State website and we all agreed that would be ok.

Share the Road Program is looking for volunteers anyone interested can contact Lenny for more info.

Lenny also stated that biker owned businesses will be charged a $30.00 Dollar fee for their ad in the Freedom Flyer.

President -John gave an update on the raffle ticket sales and asked that they be turned in as soon as possible.

John also talked on our Poker Run and the article in the Press and Dakotan, we had raised $8084.00 for the Contact Center, there was also some meat left over from the silent auction that was also given to the Contact Center.

We had 60 entries total. We were competing with graduations in the area and the weather was not ideal.

John had also asked the membership to think of a Charity or a person in need of help for our next Poker Run
