Lewis & Clark Abate Member Meeting Minutes

June 1, 2024

58 Members present. Pledge of Allegiance was held & Moment of Silence. Meeting began at 2:04 pm.

Treasurer- Des gave account balance. T-shirts came in and everyone picked them up and paid for them. 164 total members. Rock N’ Rumble needs volunteers to man the booth on July 27th. Will be selling T-shirts and koozies. Handing out information about A.B.A.T.E. and signing up new members.

State Rep - Alex still has patches for sale. Next state meeting Alex will get some challenge coins for people that want to buy them. Alex would also like to have someone join him at the state meetings. Shane volunteered to go to the next one with him.

Pres.- John discussed results from the Poker Run on May 18th, 105 riders. Blessing of the Bikes was a big hit! Some talk of getting little bells to put on the bikes after they are blessed. John will be on the radio to talk about the poker run and the donation to the Yankton Contact Center. We are also going to send out thank yous to all the businesses and people that donated to the run. New Lewis & Clark Patches will be given out at the next meeting in July to the ones that ordered them. Gun Raffle winners : 1st - Anderson AR 15 went to Jason N.; 2nd - Remington RP 9 Mil went to Chet H.; 3rd - Iver Johnson 12 Ga Pump Shotgun - Chuck S.; The Special Orange ticket drawing of the GIFA AR 10 went to Jerald H. The winners will all be contacted within the week. John mentioned needing volunteers to set up tables for Rib Fest on June 8th. At least 5 people volunteered to help.

USVMC Poker Run is set for June 22nd. 10am registration at the VFW with kickstands up at 11am. Cards drawn at 5pm, silent auction to follow with 50/50 drawing. Live music 8pm at Stringers.

Congratulations to Cheryl S. for winning the door prize donated by JR’s Oasis and to Robert B. for winning the 50/50!

Congratulations to members Mike Kayl and Jamie Purzol for tying the knot today after the meeting!

41 Members present. Pledge of Allegiance was held & Moment of Silence. Meeting began at 2:00 pm.
Treasurer- Des gave account balance. 162 total members. Rock N’ Rumble needs a few more volunteers to man the booth on July 27th.  2 hour time slots. Will be selling T-shirts and koozies. Handing out information about A.B.A.T.E. and signing up new members.
State Rep - Alex still has patches for sale. Next state meeting is July 20th and he will be attending.
Pres.- John - Drink tickets will be handed out for now on. Please find the person with the tickets when you arrive.
New Lewis & Clark Patches are in. Please pick them up.
Voted on which 3 nonprofit organizations to donate $1000.00 to each. Humane Society; Domestic Violence Center; and Kootis - Vets.
1st motion by Alex and 2nd by Red to donate $250 to the State and $250 to Impact.
Need a new sponsorship coordinator. Grant has asked to step down. Justin Liippert volunteered to take the spot. Thank you Justin.
Poker Run coming up on September 21st. Shane is going to get the route put together for the next meeting in August. Need ideas for the next charity. Will vote at the next meeting.
